The core steps of screw maintenance
Cleaning and anti-rust treatment
Use a soft cloth or wire brush to remove surface dirt and rust, stubborn rust can be soaked in white vinegar for 10-15 minutes.
Apply anti-rust oil to form a protective film. Experimental data show that regular rust prevention can prolong the life of the screw by 2-3 times.
Lubrication maintenance
Lubricating grease (such as lithium grease) should be applied regularly to the thread parts to reduce friction loss. It is recommended to check every 6 months, shortened to 3 months for high load scenarios.
Avoid the use of excessive viscosity grease, otherwise it may adsorb dust, but accelerate wear.
Maintenance points of screws made of different materials
Stainless steel screw
Strong corrosion resistance, but still need to avoid contact with salt water or acidic substances. When cleaning, it is recommended to use neutral detergent and dry thoroughly after rinsing.
If appear "brown SPOT" (slight rust), USABLE baking soda paste wipe repair.
Carbon steel screw
Must be galvanized or blackened, uncoated screws will rust within 48 hours in wet environment.
When stored with moistureproof agent (such as silica gel desiccant), humidity should be controlled below 60%.
Special scene maintenance advice
Outdoor or high humidity environment
316 stainless steel or hot dip galvanized screws are preferred, and their salt spray resistance time can reach more than 500 hours.
Check once a quarter, if the coating is damaged, apply epoxy resin paint in time.
High frequency disassembly scenario
Use nylon gaskets or thread glue to reduce wear and tear. Disassembly torque can be reduced by 30%.
It is recommended to use anti-loose washers to avoid slipping teeth caused by repeated tightening.
Storage and daily management
Classified storage
According to the specifications, material, sealed bag or plastic box, label indicating the model and maintenance date.
Avoid mixing with chemicals, especially away from ammonia, chlorine and other corrosive gases.
Periodic inspection system
Establish maintenance record sheet, including last maintenance time, use environment, abnormal conditions, etc.
